A decent review.
I do wish to applaud the fact that they were careful to include your solution to the problem, which I agree is probably the only real solution to ease the transition to a “Post work” world in which material wealth has collapsed. David Brin refers to it as the “Purple Wage” in “Kiln People”
I especially agree with the “incentive” system, though I would structure it somewhat differently. Education is the chief need that society is going to need to adapt to the coming future in which knowledge creation (as opposed to knowledge use which automation is likely to dominate)is the primary method of “wealth creation” so I would make a major incentive program aimed at education, both to attend, and much higher ones to teach. We must become a society of “scientists, artists, and philosophers” and the sooner we get started the better off we will be.
